June Favourites

It seems like the only thing I succeed in posting regularly around here are monthly favourites. I have to say I still like lining up my loves of the past weeks to see what stood out, it’s also nice to look back at those from previous months so let’s just go over them – in the fashioned order of categories.

Revolutionary for my skin this month, was finally using Biologique Recherche’s P50 lotion that I’ve picked up in Paris. (Haul coming tomorrow!) I’ll give you the full story soon but it’s very promising. At night, I just layer over the Glossier Priming Moisturizer because it’s lightweight and it does as said on the tin. I’ve been using it in the morning too, before I picked up the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo+ with SPF30 which is simply genius.

I’ve used up another bottle of the DHC Cleansing Oil and while I have two new ones waiting (yes, it’s that good) I wanted to try out L’Occitane’s Pivoine Sublime. It’s their new cleansing oil with peony petals in there – I kid you not. I find it very gentle, it has a nice scent to it and it removes all the makeup from my face in one sweep.

I’ve implemented quite a few new products in my makeup routine, such as a primer. It’s been ages that I’ve used one but The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer really makes a difference in the appearance and longevity of my foundation. I would definitely recommend this if you have oily skin or the kind that eats foundation during the day. I’ve been using a lot of different foundations during last months heatwave and I’ve rediscovered my love for the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear one. Perfect color match (I’m the color Natural), high enough coverage, disguises redness and fade scarring while still showing skin and above all, a flawless finish.

I always use powder to set my makeup, I gave in to the YouTube hype and tried out the RCMA No Color Powder. – It’s worth the hype. It’s easy to use, it mattifies without cancelling out all the glow and it doesn’t leave a trace. It’s also cheaper than most of my other powders so, yep, definitely a favourite. Throw in Glossier Haloscope in Quartz and Boy Brow in Black and you’ve almost got my look together.

Haloscope is my preferred highlighter right now and I’d never thought I would get along with Boy Brow when I had the shade Brown but it turned out it was just to light for me. I know Black isn’t technically my colour, although it just seems to work so well. Extra points for effortlessness.

I could have mentioned the Clarins Golden Glow Moisturizing Body Lotion for the hundredth time here but let’s talk my favourite summer moisturizer, the Vaseline Spray Moisturizer. I literally spray, pat and am ready to go. I alternate it with the Clarins self tan. The green aloe vera one is not my favourite scent but actually, none of them are. So I’m super happy Le Petit Marseillais released their own version of these so I can have the same easiness of use in more sophisticated scent.

Since surfing the minimalism wave, I’ve decided to use up all the shampoos in my overflowing haircare drawer. They’re all good, I was just saving them up for the right occasion – but as someone who just grabs what’s in the shower, this wasn’t my best strategy. I’ve been enjoying the Bumble & bumble Gentle shampoo. It’s for the chemically treated, product-loaded hair and I’m liking what it does and how efficient it is in cleansing.

Last but not least, during my last trip to Paris I had to go and check out the extended collab between Le Labo & Colette. They already created the Another 13 together but to celebrate Colette’s 20th anniversary, they released three new scents. When I read the descriptions, I had the feeling that Colette 34 would be my pick and it was a tough choice but it did came out as the most me. It’s a true sunshine scent with tea, fig, jasmin and musk. I love how it lingers around, definitely have a whiff when you’re in Paris!

Whoop – that’s one more month done. What are you recent faves? Any tips for when another heatwave comes around?
And yes, this is the very first article on the new BEAUTYMINDED! How do you like the new design? And the logo? Tell me if you have suggestions or if you found a bug.
