Eye care, the next level

I could call it a New Year’s resolution but I think it’s my common sense talking to me: “Katia, it’s time to take care of your eyes babe.” Sometimes I’m good at it, sometimes I just can’t be bothered. I wanted to say my eyes are sensitive but that goes for almost everyone, right? The area around my eyes is also very dry and I need to give it some extra attention.

Recently I fell in love with eye patches. Rodial’s Dragon’s Blood Eye Masks are packed with hyaluronic acid, arnica extract and dragon’s blood  (juice from a tree, fyi). They’re made out of bio-cellulose which makes them even more deeply hydrating. I’m using these once a week to boost hydration levels around my eyes and I find them to be very soothing and effective.

When my eyes are looking extremely tired or when they’re feeling swollen, I’m reaching for Filorga’s Optim-Eyes Patches. They’re supposed to help with dark circles, puffiness and wrinkles. For me, they are very hydrating and I use them the day before a big event or a shoot.

After these intense treatments, I’m following up with the best of the best. La Mer’s Lifting Eye Serum visibly lifts, firms and plumps the area around your eyes. The metal applicator ensures a smooth application and is a great way to massage all these mircacle broth-enhanced goodness in. I don’t need to tell you this feels like the most luxurious thing in the world, right?

On top, to seal it all in, I’m using CHANEL’s Sublimage Eye Cream. The Sublimage range has the best of the best, with Madagascar vanilla planifolia extract and rich hydrating and anti-ageing. This is such a rich cream and it just seals the moisture around my eye-area. Of course, it also works very repairing so this is what I go for when my eyes are super dry and tired.

If I’m not wearing makeup, I’m using a layer of the Talika Lipocils on my eyelashes. This is something that will only show results in the long term (three weeks, more or less) but in the end, I’m left with longer and thicker lashes. I’m not the best at maintaining this routine but I’ll let you know if it’s worth it. So far, it just feels nice to know that I’m at least taking care of my lashes. They have a hard time with a thick layer of mascara every day, they deserve some special attention.

How do you feel about eye products? I know some people don’t believe in them for example. I’m curious!
