My love for Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk lip liner is real people, I adore that little pencil. It’s matte yet not drying, has a lovely deep colour that intensifies a whole bunch of lipsticks and balms you couldn’t have imagined looking better – yet they do, with this lip liner underneath.
The one thing that can put you off a little is the price and for us Belgians, the availability. You have to turn to Selfridges or Net-A-Porter to get this and they come both with their own ridiculous shipping costs (£15 for the first, €15 for the latter). So I’m pretty happy to announce that I’ve found you all a drugstore dupe for this – or Amelia did and I proved her totally right.
Take a look at the swatches below and admit it, they look really similar. With Pillow Talk being a little more brown or nude where Rimmel’s Exaggerate lip liner in East End Snob is a little more pink, formula and longevity wise they are pretty much the same. You can wear them both on their own or with a hint of colour on top, the effect is equally lovely.
Rimmel’s lip liner gets extra points for being a twist-up pencil and not one you have to sharpen like Pillow Talk. Not like that’s a toughie but you do lose some product that way and I don’t like my twenty pound lip liner getting stuck inside my sharpener.
If I remember correctly, the Rimmel lip liner comes at 1/3 of the price of Tilbury’s Pillow Talk so we’re talking about a real dupe here. Run to your local drugstore to pick one up as it’s so universal, it makes about any lipstick better. You won’t find it anymore where I live, I’ve stocked up in case they get discontinued. *oops*
